The candidate:
  • Has a PhD in one of the social sciences, preferably communication science, consumer or health psychology, or related disciplines;
  • has an in-depth knowledge of their sub-discipline, proven by publications in prominent international journals and through well-known publishers;
  • has a strong empirical analytical research profile;
  • has the qualities to apply for competitive research grants in the future;
  • has teaching experience, preferably BKO (otherwise to be obtained);
  • excellent PhD candidates in their final phase are explicitly encouraged to apply.

Arbeidsvoorwaarden

The Assistant professorships (UD2) are scale 11, pending experience and track record, ranging from 3,195 to 4,374 gross per month (full-time). Promotion to UD1 (scale 12) ranging from 3,872 to 4,970 gross per month (full-time), is possible in the future, pending resources and performance.

General Counsel

Job Description

The Vice President Legal (or General Counsel of Legal) is responsible for all legal and contractual support of Irdeto’s global business.

Primary responsibilities:
  • Structure and manage the global legal and contractual staff and process(es), to ensure Irdeto’s goals can be achieved
  • Provide analysis and counsel on legal, policy and commercial issues to include: proposed new products, protecting intellectual property, mergers & acquisitions, compliance issues, non-disclosure agreements, master services agreements, license and royalty agreements
  • Develop and recommend company policy and position on legal issues, closely aligned with MIH and Naspers legal counsel.
  • Support critical contract negotiations, commercial deals, suppliers etc
  • Write and administer complex vendor and client contracts
  • Provide legal counsel on issues arising from actuals or anticipated lawsuits
  • Anticipate and guard against legal risks facing the company
  • Represent the company or its officials in various legal proceedings
  • Manage the relationships with external law firms using them for external advice when appropriate
Manage the company’s internal legal team:
  • Two Legal Business Partners for the Online and Digital-TV divisions 
  • One Legal Shared Services manager responsible for the back-office legal support (maintaining company standards, contract management, compliance)

Additional responsibilities:

  • As part of the CFO leadership team, the General Counsel (or Vice President Legal) has an overall responsibility within the team to support and constructively support, but also where appropriate challenge all key projects and initiatives
  • Specifically the General Counsel (or Vice President Legal) has a role supporting Irdeto’s Directors in their fiduciary duties and being one of the custodians of the integrity of the business
  • If required the General Counsel (or Vice President Legal) will also participate in projects outside of his direct area of responsibility

As a MySQL DBA you will work together with the other DBA. It’s important to strengthen the DBA team due to the increase of activities. You will be responsible for all large MySQL databases in the company on an international basis. Your responsibilities will include:
- DBA tasks - maintenance of the large databases (performance analysis and tuning, ad-hoc problems, foresee problems before they occur, database recovery, disaster recovery, storage engines, backup)
- Help developers in designing databases and develop them
- Upgrades (upgrades, plug-ins, replications, database integration)
- Querying
- 24/7 support

Your profile:
- You have a bachelor degree
- Experience with MySQL (versions 5.0 to 5.5) (MUST)
- Experience with Oracle is a plus
- Experience with a scripting language (Python, Bash, PHP) is a plus
