Job description
The prospective university lecturer will have the following primary responsibilities:
- teaching in the field of public international law in the bachelor and master programmes
- supervising bachelor and master theses
- coordinating teaching activities
- conducting research within the field of public international law, fitting within one of the research programmes of the faculty of law
- engaging in the development of research projects.
Qualifications
The following requirements apply to the post:
- demonstrable knowledge of public international law
- a PhD degree based on a thesis in public international law
- experience in teaching courses
- possession of a basic teaching qualification or preparedness to acquire this qualification within a reasonable timeframe
- excellent research skills, preferably some publications in top or very good, refereed journals in the area of Operations
- demonstrable organizational and communicative skills
- fluency in English
- knowledge of Dutch will be an advantage
- experience with the development of research projects will be an advantage.
Conditions of employment
The University of Groningen offers depending on
qualifications and experience a minimum salary of € 3,227 (scale 11)
and a maximum salary of € 5,020 (scale 12) gross a month on a full-time
basis (Collective Labour Agreement Dutch Universities). The post will
initially be established, for now, for a fixed term period of two years.
