Shell is hiring an Internal Communications expert to join our team at Shell’s Headquarters in The Netherlands to support a portfolio of areas within the corporate functions. This communications role actively supports and advises core business functions – principally the Human Resources and Legal functions, but will also be expected to support other functions as required. We are looking for someone who is great at developing and delivering communications plans globally, is an experienced and skilled writer in English and who has a strong interest in social media channels. Job description
Crossmediality
is the central theme of our faculty with state-of-the-art activities,
both for education and research. For you being an enthusiastic expert

Your work:
You teach and develop courses, in English, for the study programme International Communication and Media. This concerns both theory and the practice of crossmedia. For example, in courses such as Media Exploration, Campaign Plan and Corporate Image. You tutor students for projects, work placements and graduation assignments. It is also possible to carry out practice oriented research or to work for one of the other programmes of the faculty, participate in faculty projects, especially when it concerns crossmedia and curriculum development.

Requirements
You
have a master's degree, preferably in communication or (cross)media.
Didactic experience and the ability to use various didactic forms are
preferred. Assessment and curriculum development have your particular
interest. You gained experience in professional crossmedial and/or
communication practice or you have experience with doing practice
oriented research. Your English proficiency is excellent. Being
competent in a culturally generic way, i.e. being good at dealing with
differences, is essential for this job. The diversity of the ICM team
will be enriched by your own background/history. You are a team player
and you take initiative and responsibility for the tasks at hand.
Conditions of employment
You'll
receive a contract for a year (D4) for a maximum of 0.8 fte. The gross
salary for a full-time position is at least € 2471.- with a maximum of €
3740.- (scale 10). In addition you will receive, in accordance with the
cao hbo (collective labour agreement of Dutch Universities of Applied
Sciences), a holiday bonus of 8% and a thirteenth month. In addition, we
have excellent opportunities for studying and development.

Job description
You will work as Assistant Professor at the departments of English Language and Culture (American Studies programme) and Business Communication, where you will teach American English language skill courses at the Bachelor's level and intercultural (business) communication between Europe and North America. In addition to teaching and research, you will have certain administrative responsibilities. Your research will be embedded in the Institute for Historical, Literary and Cultural Studies (HLCS) or the Centre for Language Studies (CLS). You will participate in committees and/or project groups at the department or faculty.
Requirements
- you hold a doctoral degree in a relevant discipline, preferably in American Studies, Business Communication, Communication Studies, Linguistics or English Language;
- you are a native speaker of American English, or have near-native command of American English;
- you have university teaching experience at various levels, and are able to contribute ideas on educational innovation;
- you have obtained the University Teaching Qualification (BKO), or are prepared to take courses in order to obtain this qualification in a relatively short time;
- you have built up an international network of academic contacts and have a strong research ambition as evidenced by publications and initiatives;
- you are able to acquire externally funded research assignments and write project proposals;
- you have experience with supervising students writing their Bachelor’s or Master’s theses;
- you should have the following competencies: conceptual ability, situational awareness, presentation, result orientation and initiative.

The profile
- Bsc./Msc. degree in communications/ PR/ journalism or a comparable study;

- excellent knowledge of the Dutch and English language both verbal and written;
