Job Description	Shell is hiring an Internal Communications expert to join our team at Shell’s Headquarters in The Netherlands to support a portfolio of areas within the corporate functions. This communications role actively supports and advises core business functions – principally the Human Resources and Legal functions, but will also be expected to support other functions as required. We are looking for someone who is great at developing and delivering communications plans globally, is an experienced and skilled writer in English and who has a strong interest in social media channels. Key responsibilities: Initiate, plan and drive the delivery of the internal communications plans for key areas in the Human Resources Function, as well as in Legal and other functions as required. Initiate and support in the creative development, writing, effective use of channels and planning of internal communications for the corporate functions, targeting key internal stakeholders. Ensure consistent alignment with business strategy across the organisation. Engage key stakeholders, providing coaching and training where required. Review and provide clearance for external communication materials for senior leaders. Provide strategic communications advice to the leaders within the different corporate functions. Develop, oversee and own the governance for the structure, content and professionalism of communications and tools and channels (websites, social media, etc). Monitor, measure and evaluate the effectiveness of communications channels and activities Essential Requirements Degree qualified in Communications, Media or a related subject. Proven, experienced writer in English with strong presentation skills. Previous experience of having worked on change programmes within communications in a large organisation. Ability to translate complex technical matters into accessible messages. Creative, with commercial mindset/business focus. Able to think strategically and translate business objectives into multi channel strategies// plans. Highly organized and with proven ability to deliver under time pressure. Job description

Crossmediality is the central theme of our faculty with state-of-the-art activities, both for education and research. For you being an enthusiastic expert this offers a great opportunity to inspire both students and fellow lecturers with your expertise.
Your work:
You teach and develop courses, in English, for the study programme International Communication and Media. This concerns both theory and the practice of crossmedia. For example, in courses such as Media Exploration, Campaign Plan and Corporate Image. You tutor students for projects, work placements and graduation assignments. It is also possible to carry out practice oriented research or to work for one of the other programmes of the faculty, participate in faculty projects, especially when it concerns crossmedia and curriculum development.

Requirements

You have a master's degree, preferably in communication or (cross)media. Didactic experience and the ability to use various didactic forms are preferred. Assessment and curriculum development have your particular interest. You gained experience in professional crossmedial and/or communication practice or you have experience with doing practice oriented research. Your English proficiency is excellent. Being competent in a culturally generic way, i.e. being good at dealing with differences, is essential for this job. The diversity of the ICM team will be enriched by your own background/history. You are a team player and you take initiative and responsibility for the tasks at hand.

Conditions of employment

You'll receive a contract for a year (D4) for a maximum of 0.8 fte. The gross salary for a full-time position is at least € 2471.- with a maximum of € 3740.- (scale 10). In addition you will receive, in accordance with the cao hbo (collective labour agreement of Dutch Universities of Applied Sciences), a holiday bonus of 8% and a thirteenth month. Job description

You will work as Assistant Professor at the departments of English Language and Culture (American Studies programme) and Business Communication, where you will teach American English language skill courses at the Bachelor's level and intercultural (business) communication between Europe and North America. In addition to teaching and research, you will have certain administrative responsibilities. Your research will be embedded in the Institute for Historical, Literary and Cultural Studies (HLCS) or the Centre for Language Studies (CLS). You will participate in committees and/or project groups at the department or faculty.

Requirements

- you hold a doctoral degree in a relevant discipline, preferably in American Studies, Business Communication, Communication Studies, Linguistics or English Language;
- you are a native speaker of American English, or have near-native command of American English;
- you have university teaching experience at various levels, and are able to contribute ideas on educational innovation;
- you have obtained the University Teaching Qualification (BKO), or are prepared to take courses in order to obtain this qualification in a relatively short time;
- you have built up an international network of academic contacts and have a strong research ambition as evidenced by publications and initiatives;

Introduction of the ‘European Blue Card’

As from 19 June 2011 the Netherlands has a new purpose of stay: the European Blue Card. The European Blue Card is a separate purpose of stay in addition to the existing National Highly Skilled Migrant Programme. The EU Blue Card Council Directive is intended for highly skilled foreign nationals who do not have EU, EEA or Swiss nationality, and who wish to work in one of the member states of the EU. The Directive is also meant to make it easier to settle in another EU member state. A residence permit will always be required in that other member state, however. To obtain this residence permit the employee must comply with the conditions applicable in that member state.

The conditions for residence in the Netherlands as an EU Blue Card holder are stricter than those for residence as a Highly Skilled Migrant. The employee must have a contract for highly qualified employment for at least one year, earning at least EUR 60,000 gross (in 2011). The employee must have completed a course of higher education lasting at least three years. The employee must prove this by having his diploma assessed by Nuffic. For a regulated profession, a competent authority will take decisions about the admission to that profession.

Advantages
One of the advantages of the EU Blue Card is that it is easier for an EU Blue Card holder and his family members to settle in another EU member state at a later date. After eighteen months foreign nationals who have an EU Blue Card are exempted from the provisional residence permit (MVV) requirement, if they want to work in another EU member State. In this second member state the employee must submit an application for a residence permit as a holder of an EU Blue Card. Each member state may implement the directive in slightly different ways. If someone holds a Blue Card in the Netherlands, this does not mean that the requirements are also met in other member states.

Another advantage is that after having stayed lawfully with the EU Blue Card holder in the Netherlands for two years, the family members may apply for a residence permit for ‘continued residence’. For other purposes of stay this is only possible after having stayed lawfully in the Netherlands for three years. The family members must have resided legally and continuously within the territory of an EU member state for at least five years, however. An employee who has stayed legally in the Netherlands as an EU Blue Card holder for two years may apply for the status of ‘long-term resident as a non-EU member country national’. He must have resided legally and continuously within EU territory for five years and must comply with the other conditions for this purpose of stay.

Highly skilled migrants from outside of the EU

A highly skilled migrant is a migrant who comes to the Netherlands to be employed, and has a gross annual income of at least €47,565, or €34,881 if he/she is under thirty. This income requirement does not apply if the employee enters service for certain functions in an educational or research institution. For information on the specific functions to which this clause applies, you can inquire at the IND office for labour and highly skilled migrants. When a foreign national has been granted residence in the Netherlands as a highly skilled migrant, the employer of the highly skilled migrant is not required to be in possession of a work permit for that foreign national.

Professional soccer players, ministers of religion, teachers of religion and prostitutes are not eligible for a residency as highly skilled migrant.
