Besides performing all tasks of your rank you will combine tasks associated with Dynamic Positioning.

VACANCY: Riser Design Engineer

Your daily activities:

HMC is currently building the Aegir,a state-of-the-art J-lay and Reel-lay vessel for pipelay installation and subsea construction projects in deep to ultradeep water all around the world. Together with the DCV Balder, our deepwater J-lay vessel, it forms HMC's fleet for the offshore deepwater pipelay market, which will be used for EPCI/Turn Key subsea projects. To prepare projects executed with these vessels HMC is working in multidisciplinary projectteams from our Leiden office. As Riser Design Engineer you will be part of these projectteams with challenging projects.
You have the opportunity to be part of the growing subsea product group and experience it's development towards design engineering, procurement and construction expertise. Specifically to strengthen the subsea design engineering side are we looking for capable and experienced designers, up to and including lead engineer experience.
As Riser Design Engineer you will design offshore oil and gas riser- and pipeline systems, components and associated steel and piping structures. Next to that, you are responsible to develop design standards for HMC’s EPCI projects and you have the possibility to grow to a team lead role, in which you can lead a detailed design team.
You are part of a multidisciplinairy EPCI project team, in which you have your own deliverable. You advise the project team on riser design issues.
The job requirements HMC is looking for:
  • You have a Bachelor or Master degree in Civil, Mechanical, Maritime or Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent.
  • You have at least 3 years’ experience with design of steel structures, infrastructure projects or manufactured components.
  • You have the ability to develop design solutions from scratch.
  • You have excellent analytical and pragmatic skills and you have the ability to work autonomously.
  • You have good communication skills in English, both spoken and written.
  • You have the ambition to work (temporarily) offshore on our vessels, overseas or in our other offices.

VACANCY: Design Package Engineer

Your tasks and responsibilities:

As a design package engineer you are responsible for managing subsea design packages. You will manage the interfaces between the design subcontractor, the EPIC project team and the client. You make sure all engineering issues and questions raised by clients and other subcontractors are dealt with.
It is your task as design package engineer to pursue timely completion of engineering work for your own design packages in accordance with the main contract requirements. Next to that you compile technical input for procurement and subcontract packages and you communicate that with supply chain and construction project team members. During your work, you have contact with vendors and subcontractors about technical requirements and quality issues.
The department:
The Technology Department within Heerema Marine Contractors performs the complete preparation and engineering for installation and removal projects, give engineering support to projects that will be prepared in one of our other offices all over the world and give engineering support to equipment (new-build/modification) scopes including our vessels.
The job requirements:
  • You have a Bachelor or Master degree in Civil or Mechanical engineering, Ship building or Offshore technology.
  • You have at least 5 years’ work experience within offshore engineering/construction companies in relevant positions. Experience with EPIC projects is a pre.
  • You have in-depth knowledge of subsea design or flowlines and risers design.
  • You have a drive to make things happen while being aware of quality and safety.
  • You have good understanding of the drivers in a complex project environment.
  • You have good communication skills in English, both spoken and written.
