Raising English is a unique language institute located in several locations around Utrecht. We specialize in providing English Enrichment language programs to young learners by means of a creative curriculum enhanced with stimulating stories and lively songs. We are accepting applications for qualified native/near native speakers who possess energy, enthusiasm and excellent classroom management skills to provide English lessons to our students in Utrecht.

As a teacher of Raising English, your tasks would be to:
Prepare creative lessons plans and material for the students;
Provide lessons to the students, while encouraging them and keeping them involved;
Communicate the progress of the students to their parents and to the organization.
Recognize each child’s individual learning ability and provide lesson based on their needs.
Interested candidates should have:
Native/Near native skills in English language;
Knowledge of the Dutch language;
An affinity to work with children;
Classroom management skills;
Experience in working with children, including teaching and/or childcare (mandatory).

VACANCY: Four early-career University Lecturers to teach in the English language BA International Studies
- Recent Ph.D. in hand or a confirmed final examination (viva, oral defense) date before the start of the appointment;
- Formal training and expertise in the humanities or the social sciences, including but not limited to history, area studies, political science and international relations, economics, cultural and social disciplines, linguistics or related disciplines, and openness to interdisciplinary work;
- Comparative international outlook;
- Regional specialization is open;
- Preferable experience in teaching and supervision;
- Near-native speaker of English;
- Non-Dutch speaking individuals will be expected to learn Dutch within two years;
- Leiden University requires staff to obtain the Basic Teaching Qualification (BKO). In case the successful applicant does not possess this qualification or its equivalent, the Institute will offer support in obtaining it.

You will be delivering education through training sessions, workshops and project groups. You will be developing educational material and guiding students both individually and in groups. Furthermore we expect you to deliver an active contribution to the development and anchorage of the knowledge-domain within the curriculum.
You have an academic level of thinking and working with a relevant completed education and a first grade teaching qualification. You have built up working experience on a higher educational level. You are either experienced with or have affinity with working in an international / intercultural context (preferably) in the Leisure industry. You are familiar with ICT and its application in education, using the electronically learning environment, and you are motivated to use these methods intensively. Also you are familiar with modern educational views within the higher education (aimed on competency and practice, directed by questions).
NHTV Breda University of Applied Sciences offers organisation and facilities for costs of relocation and settling-in in the Netherlands. Dutch Tax authorities may offer tax reduction to applicants from abroad. The salary for this position will be at level 11 of the CAO-HBO (Collective Labour Agreement), earning a monthly maximum of € 4365.16 gross (full-time). For this position you will be offered a contract for the period of one year. You will get a fixed annual benefit of 8.3%. Apart from this, NHTV University of Applied Sciences offers you an 8% holiday allowance, a compensation for your Health Insurance and several compensations for sports activities.
