Project
The aim of the project is to discover novel microRNAs implicated in heart failure induced by the metabolic risk factors (hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia), unravel their biological role, and study their therapeutic prospects for treating metabolic risk induced diseases, with a particular focus on heart failure and ocular diseases. Methods include, omics, bioinformatics, rodent experiments and molecular work.

This project is a collaborative project (exchange of people) between Maastricht University (Netherlands), Santaris Pharma (MicroRNA medicines, Denmark) and Omics/bioinformatical centre (GIGA, Liège, Belgium).
